According to section 3.4.7 of the Faculty Handbook, all research projects involving the use of radioactive materials or ionizing radiation must be reviewed and approved by the Radiation Safety Committee and, if a non-routine human use is involved, by the radioactive drug research committees. PIs are responsible for ensuring that use of radiation sources complies with federal, state, and institutional standards.
